Overview

AeroTech Thermal Insulation Coating (AT-C Series) is a premium, water-borne insulation coating incorporating our nano-silica aerogel powder as the functional insulation medium. It bridges the gap between traditional paint and rigid insulation — offering meaningful thermal resistance with the convenience of a liquid coating application.

A 5 mm dry film of AT-C coating provides insulation performance equivalent to a 25–30 mm conventional mineral wool layer, making it ideal for space-constrained retrofits, historic building preservation, and challenging geometries where rigid insulation boards cannot be used.

Key Features

  • Thermal conductivity of dry film: ≤ 0.025 W/m·K
  • Water-based, low VOC — safe for indoor and outdoor application
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete, brick, steel, wood, and most substrates
  • Vapor-permeable — prevents moisture entrapment in walls
  • Hydrophobic after curing — water contact angle > 120°
  • UV resistant formulation available for outdoor facades
  • Anti-condensation effect on cold surfaces
  • Tintable — available in a range of colors or as a base for topcoat
  • Application by brush, roller, or airless spray

How It Works

The coating matrix suspends millions of nano-porous aerogel particles in each cubic centimeter of dry film. These particles, with pore sizes averaging 10–50 nm, dramatically restrict air molecule movement — the primary mechanism of heat conduction in conventional insulation. The result is a thin film that behaves thermally like a much thicker traditional insulator.

Applications

  • Interior wall and ceiling insulation (energy-efficient buildings)
  • Historic building facade insulation (thin profile preserves architecture)
  • Cold pipeline and vessel anti-condensation coating
  • Industrial tank and reactor thermal insulation
  • Roof insulation coating (flat and pitched)
  • Container and cold storage insulation
  • Marine bulkhead and deck insulation

Application Guide

Step Instruction
1. Surface PrepClean, dry, free of dust, oil, and loose paint. Prime porous surfaces.
2. DilutionUse as-supplied. Max 5% water dilution for spray application.
3. ApplicationApply 2–3 coats of 1.5–2 mm wet film each; allow each coat to dry 4–6 h.
4. CuringFull performance achieved after 7 days. Avoid rain within 24 h.
